Ever since we arrived, the weathermen have been spot on. When 100% chance of rain was predicted (like yesterday), it didn't rain.
Today was one of those, 20% chance of rain--sunny kind of days.
Thus, not a good day to have a mission to find diapers. Good thing the umbrella and coats were still in the backpack from yesterday's "rainy" day.
Now, I knew Aldi carries diapers (roughly 10 blocks away round trip) but they came in a huge package of 80 and when one is trying to minimize how much has to be packed back to the U.S. (to have the most room to bring back chocolate, of course :) :) :), I was looking for a more a reasonable size of like 30-40 that would just last Brycen until we arrived back home. I knew the grocery store over by where we lived our first week here carried diapers so I headed there first.
They carried packages of 30-40 (perfect! and for half the price) but of course, they were all out of the sizes above 3 (which is the size Brycen grew out of when he was 4 months old) so that clearly, wasn't going to work.
So we ended up walking and trying two other stores before we (out of desperation) resorted to Aldi, leaving me soaked by the time we arrived home (at least a mile or more, round trip)
Good thing the gigantic bag came with it's own handles--I'm not sure how I would've gotten it home otherwise.
Brycen loved the walk, being able to stay dry and eat his gummi bears, must be the life :)..and he did not want it to end.
But I'm feeling more of a movie/Popsicle eating/napping kinda day as long as this sunny day holds up. With the buses being crazy packed (like 3 strollers trying/needing to fit in a space for only 1--no seat to be found), I think we'll wait out the rain at home.
