SUCCESS!! Finally...
Tonight's meal was by far, the best that has tasted (homemade) since we have left the States. Brycen has really, become quite the eater over here (even with things tasting funny). He has always been really good at trying a bite of everything (usually ate off our plates) but if dinner didn't fill him up...there were back-up options such as Mac n' cheese or bread and with being home all day, he was able to snack alot on apples, crackers, cheese, and pretzels.
Well, with neither of those simple options here (we have lots of bread items for breakfast that get us breaded-out for the rest of the day) and being out in the city all day....we have snacks but definitely look forward to meals to fill us up.
Brycen has become a much better meat lover (loves chicken, sandwich meat, and Kabab meat) and finds parts of each meal he loves (says, "mmm...yummy!", music to Mommy's ears), and will eat enough to have his own plate and then go back for seconds and thirds (his appetite amazes me).
Tonight's meal, he LOVED completely.
Noodles, carrots, chicken, and rice (sprinkled with our beloved pepper shaker) pesto soup. He was saying, "Yummy" before he even tried it.
Oh and canned corn. He LOVES corn.
He has also become quite the helper over here, as well. He did all the dishes (hence no shirt, got soaked in the process) while I made dinner. Even scrubbed the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. And last night, cleared the entire table by himself...putting the necessary things into the fridge and giving the rest to Mommy who was doing the dishes.
I'm loving this trip more and more each day. But also looking forward to getting back to friends, our home, and people I can understand (rather than just smile and nod). Especially when they make small comments in the grocery store, or while waiting at the traffic light....about Brycen or crazy bikers, I'm guessing....won't ever know for sure.
