1. Tube Ride
This past weekend, we were able to visit our newest Walker cousin (we LOVE being close to family. Baby Evelyn, 10 days old--I forgot to take a picture!!) and then her crazy! wonderful parents invited us to join them on the river for one last boat ride of the season. Yes, baby Evelyn (and Mommy) came along too! It made my sister's wedding in October look like cake walk. All assuming....alot, you know...that the baby is born by then.
| A boat ride? Cian. was. in. heaven. |
| Check out the scenery! GORGEOUS day. |
| And the tube quickly became Brycen's heaven. |
| Laughing with the girls and wanting to go "FASTER". |
| Our CIAN even tried it out! We took it a bit slower but man, he not only: wanted to try it but, he did and loved it. |
| I'm not going to lie. I was completely okay with pulling the pregnancy card on this one. The tube..... not my kind of thrill. |
And then back at home, I spent days washing all the baby clothes and pulling out the goodies.
| And the nursery got set up and I was feeling really good last night, about how ready we were! |
I then woke up this morning and took these cute boys to their Aunt's house to play.
While Bryce was fortunate enough to be able to leave work and come with me to my 37 week appointment and ultrasound (I am SO glad he did). Apparently, switching doctors at 36 weeks and having such different previous deliveries gave my doctor a reason to schedule one for me and I was not going to complain! An opportunity to see baby? Yes please. As well as you know, double check that gender thing.
2: Sister!
| Our 80% chance of another boy (based solely on one ultrasound technician that "thought" he saw something), turned out to be a baby GIRL the whole time!! |
Brycen's: reaction: "How does a boy become a girl?"
Excellent question...
But he is
so excited. As is Cian (even though I'm not sure he fully comprehends or has all along) and as is ....Dad. Dad is already scouting out the nearest gun stores to polish up and have on hand for her dating years. And Mommy is totally excited that Bucky is no longer in the running for a name. I asked Brycen if we should still call her "Bucky" (Brycen and Cian's choice for baby brother's name that they told....everyone) and he replied, "NO WAY!"
Excellent answer. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Bucky is a great name. Just not for me...and our kids' fascination with "Jake and the Neverland Pirates".
| Can you believe it???? I still can't. I love boys but I really am beyond excited that I get to have the opportunity to have a baby girl!! |
| And that Bryce can no longer call me crazy for collecting a few girl items over the years. |
AHHH!! Pinch me now.
Other details: She is healthy. Crazy active. Is bigger than most babies at this gestational age but not huge like Biggest Brother. Thank goodness! Has an adorable nose and pair of lips. And gets the hiccups 12 times a day.
As for me: I'm 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. And crazy uncomfortable.
Basically, she could come any day or she couldn't The joy and mystery of pregnancy....and I am loving it.
