Well, today was his official due date and it's hard to believe that we have already had 11 days with this precious guy.
Our little star for Halloween.
Now, I'm not exactly sure what is "normal" for a baby. Since I have had two and they are about as opposite as they come; but as for right now, I'm enjoying the fact that my "hard" baby came first so that I'm just pleasantly surprised and counting my blessings for how perfect this little guy seems to be.
Brycen has never been a good sleeper, starting life off with his days and nights completely mixed up. He slept all day but only if I was holding him and then he was up consistently from midnight to 8am. I remember thinking, "I can't even imagine having a toddler in addition to a baby right now". Because I had no choice but to sleep when the baby slept. Brycen also was very slow at feeding and spit up roughly 50-75% of all he ate. Eating was seriously an all day process (could never keep him full)that ended up decorating our apartment faster than I could clean it up. Milk puddles polka dotted the carpet and could be found on almost every piece of furniture and I could never keep a clean outfit on him nor me.
Cian with Grandma---my "extra set of hands, laundry is magically folded, dishes done and put away, food appears before me, Brycen distractor" all in one. SO nice :)
On the other hand, Cian (since some have asked, pronounced "Kee an") seriously sleeps 22-23 hours of the day, no joke. His 1-2 hours up is usually at night but if I'm holding him, he will normally go back to sleep. He sleeps like a rock all day...only wakes up every 3-4 hours (sometimes I have to wake him) to feed (not crying, just mouth wide open, head turning from side to side--my little baby bird), and will fall back asleep as soon as he is full and will sleep where ever placed. Yesterday, he slept through dinner to Applebees and two hours of trick-or-treating, I was shocked. His light sleep is at night so that he will normally wake up if placed in the bassinet. But he will sleep if in my arms so even though I'm not getting the best sleep, waking up constantly to make sure I'm not rolling on top of him--it's sleep and I am treasuring both it and the little man in my arms. He has also probably spit up twice in the 11 days here and he eats in under ten minutes...every 3 hours. No complaints here. :)
During the rare moments where he does open his eyes during the day, he is so content to just lay on his back or tummy (Brycen hated tummy time...really, anytime he was put down) and will usually ending up just falling back asleep.
He also wears the adorable newborn diapers and clothes (on a side note, I am quite pleased with Walmart's brand of diapers. The Pampers we got from the hospital would leak 1-2 times a day, making Cian and everything under him soaked. The Parent's Choice have never leaked and can go 6+ hours (found out by accident, when I forgot to change at night) between changes and they also have the "wet technology" where the picture on the diaper disappears to let you know when the diaper is wet. I'm very, very pleased for a store brand diaper!) Speaking of diaper changes, I have mastered changing Cian's diaper (at night) solely using the lights from the street coming through the blinds. I'm quite proud. It keeps both him and I, sleepy.
He is our perfect (for now) little skinny-mini and it sure makes being a mother of two-possible (well, that and Grandma being here, of course :)
9 days old.

Wow! Cian sounds perfect!!! Hopefully he continues to be the "easy" one.
You look great! He really is tiny - it's like your mom is palming a tiny football in that pic!
